Sechenov University was included in the prestigious ranking, as one of the 35 Russian institutions. THE Emerging Economies University Rankings-2019 has selected 442 top world universities from 43 countries, including China, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, India, Brazil, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, etc.
The ranking uses the same 13 performance indicators as the THE World University Rankings, examining each university’s strengths against all of its core missions – teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
However the methodology has been carefully recalibrated to better reflect the characteristics and development priorities of universities in emerging economies. More weight is given, for example, to university’s industry links and international outlook.
“The key our goal is diversification of the main activities with transition from Medical University to the University of Life Sciences. Today Sechenov University is involved in global research networks and international partnership projects. The right choice of our strategy is reflected in growing reputation assessments”, noted Prof. Petr Glybochko, the Sechenov University’s rector.
THE Emerging Economies University Rankings includes universities in countries classified as developing ones (based on FTSE classification). They are divided into three groups: Advanced Emerging, Secondary Emerging, and Frontier.
The ranking results are available on the official THE website.
